Our skin, our legs (2023)
1 channel film, color, sound, 29min 40 secs,

This documentary takes Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis as one of its starting points. It grew out of memories of a family member going through a period of profound physical and emotional change, and the strange distance that can emerge between people who have lived together for a long time.

Looking back on these memories from adolescence, my own body also becomes part of the recollection. It was changing and growing, sometimes becoming unfamiliar even to myself. Memories of my family and memories of my own body begin to overlap, without settling into one clear version of what happened.

The film moves between these fragments of memory. Certain images, feelings, and moments return in slightly different forms, while others become harder to place. The memories do not always connect clearly, but they gradually begin to sit alongside one another.
